Amitabh Bachchan & ‘Sairat’ director Nagraj Manjule’s film shelved?

Amitabh Bachchan and ‘Sairat’ (2016) director Nagraj Manjule were excitedly teaming up for Manjule’s first Bollywood film based on Vijay Barse. Barse is the founder of ‘Slum Soccer’, an NGO where underprivileged children are given the opportunity to better their lifestyle through football matches. Titled ‘Jhund’, the film was supposed to go on floors last year, but is reportedly shelved, due to financial reasons.

As according to Deccan Chronicle, Bachchan had also started playing football again, as the film would have started in October 2017, but an source revealed, “The film’s financial dynamics were just not working out, and the makers have decided to call it off.”

Manjule’s ‘Sairat’ is being remade in Hindi as ‘Dhadak’, Janhvi Kapoor’s debut film.
