Amitabh Bachchan to play Kangna Ranaut’s mentor

It comes as no surprise that Amitabh Bachchan is set to sign yet another film with R Balki. News has it that the actor will be signed to play a mentor to Kangna Ranaut, who will play the role of an amputee in a biopic.

“Kangana had already been roped in for the Arunima Sinha (the first Indian amputee to scale Mount Everest) biopic. But the film showed no signs of kick-starting. So when Balki offered her this project, she was keen to come on board,” Mid-Day reports a source revealing.

They went on to add, “The film revolves around a woman who is left handicapped after a freak accident, and eventually reclaims her life.”

Being compared to his role as Rani Mukerji’s mentor in ‘Black’ (2005), similarly, Bachchan’s character encourages Ranaut to face her challenges and go above and beyond expectations.

As for Ranaut, once being signed she will under-go researching about Arunima Sinha and how she achieved scaling one of the biggest mountains in the world, as well as training in the physicality of her character. “Kangana will require a two-month-long prep to adapt to the body language of a differently-abled person. The actors are expected to sign the contracts next week and an official announcement will be made later this month,” the source explained.
