Amitabh Bachchan and Kangna Ranaut have been honoured with the 63rd National Film Awards for their performances in ‘Piku’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ respectively.

For Ranaut, this is her third National Award after ‘Queen’ and ‘Fashion’. She said, “It is the best birthday gift I could have got. I am thrilled and feel blessed especially since Mr Bachchan is the best actor with me.”

Meanwhile, S S Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’ was awarded Best Feature Film and Best Special Effects and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s walked away with Best Director for ‘Bajirao Mastani’. ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ won Best Popular Film and ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ was awarded Best Hindi Film.

This is my first National award as a director, it is really very special to me. My mother always prayed that I should get one and here I get it. Her prayers are answered,۝ Bhansali said.
