Amitabh Bachchan declines Buckingham Palace invitation

Amitabh Bachchan is often invited to be an esteemed guest by various nations along with other dignitaries. The latest news suggests that the actor has declined an invitation from British monarch Queen Elizabeth and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.

“Prior commitments are making it impossible for him to fly to London for the gala. He has already extended his regret to the invitation, citing pre-scheduled commitments, but is honoured to receive a special invite from Buckingham Palace,” said a source, according to Mid-Day.

The actor’s publicist confirmed the news, “Yes, Mr Bachchan has been extended a rare invitation by Queen Elizabeth and Buckingham Palace to grace the UK-India Cultural Year reception. Unfortunately, however, he will be unable to attend due to prior commitments”.

Bachchan’s diary is currently very pressured and it seems he just couldn’t fit in a trip to London in between.
