Amitabh Bachchan, even in his 70s, is still open to playing characters that aren’t conforming to what may be expected of a actor of his age. BizAsia has learnt that he has signed up for Bejoy Nambiar’s forthcoming film in which he will be seen essaying the role of a paralysed chess grandmaster.

Bachchan is set to play Farhan Akhtar’s teacher in the film which will be a Vidhu Vinod Chopra production. He will apparently be bedridden in the role. A source spoke to Hindustan Times, “After Farhan came on board, Bejoy expressed his desire to have Mr Bachchan in it as well. And when Bejoy met Mr Bachchan with the script, he immediately approved of the role”.

Bachchan himself also said, “After Shoojit۪s (Sircar; director) film, there will be Vidhu Vinod Chopra۪s project. That will be at the end of the year with Farhan, and Bejoy Nambiar is directing it”.
