Amit Sadh going for ‘Gold’: “Never in my life have I worked so hard”

Amit Sadh who will be starring alongside Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy in their upcoming film ‘Gold’, said he has never worked so hard for a role.

Reported on Deccan Chronicle, Sadh says after putting a lot of effort into the film, it’s very close to his heart. “I have never in my life worked so hard for any film or character as I have for Gold. I had to learn to play hockey. The film is about when India won the hockey gold in 1948. We could not compromise on the quality of hockey played, so there was a lot of hard work attached. Gold is very close to my heart and I am so excited that I would want the film to release in April instead of August,” says the ‘Sultan’ (2016) actor.

Speaking about director Reema Kagti, Sadh shares his experience working under her direction. “Reema (Kagti) is a very capable director. We had to train a lot. Her direction and research was so complete that we just had to go there, listen and perform.”

The ‘Kai Po Che!’ (2013) actor is completely bowled over by his co-star Kumar.  “Akshay sir is so amazing. I am very impressed by him. Our lifestyle and discipline match; even I sleep at 10 pm. His grasp on the craft is great and I learnt a lot from him.”

Though Sadh has given his all to ‘Gold’, he wouldn’t mind playing a romantic hero on screen in the future. “Sports films take so much out of you that I want to say ‘I love you’ to someone on screen. You don’t get injured in love stories.”

‘Gold’ is slated to release on the 15th August.
