Amir Liaquat Hussain quits Geo, joins ARY

Popular politician and broadcaster Amir Liaquat Hussain has quit Geo Network to join rival ARY Digital to head its religious channel ARY QTV.

He is also former State Minister for Religious Affairs and anchored the popular TV show ‘Aalim Online’ on Geo.

Aamir Liaquat Hussain, originally from Karachi, contested the 2002 general election under the supervision of Pervez Musharraf, and the platform of his affiliated party Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

Hussain’s first duty at ARY will be to spruce up the network’s Ramadan plans, which commences this week. The channel has already lined up a string of specials on ARY QTV and main channel ARY Digital to coincide with the religious occasion.
