‘Amber Dhara’ actor sacked after two weeks

Sony Entertainment Television Asia’s new soap ‘Amber Dhara’ is going through a sticky patch with one of its actors been shown the door after barely two weeks in the job.

According to Mumbai Mirror, Harshad Chopra who played the character Akshat had apparently signed the show without informing the producers Vikas Seth and Siddharth Kumar Tiwari, about his prior commitments.

A source in the production house told Mumbai Mirror, “Harshad had a two-year contract with Tony and Deeya Singh’s Left Right Left which forbade him to work with any other producer. But because he had a tiff with them, he went on to sign Amber Dhara which obviously, did not go down well with Amber Dhara’s team.”

On Tony and Deeya Singh’s complaint, Sony TV heads immediately took action. After a long meeting, the producers of ‘Amber Dhara’ and the channel examined the issue and finally decided to sack Harshad.

Ali Merchant, who plays Bharat in Balaji’s ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii’, has replaced Harshad in the show
