Amazon Prime Video to include “limited advertisements”
Amazon Prime Video is set to introduce adverts across all their content on the streaming service – from 5th February in the UK.
The popular streaming provider joins the other OTT providers Disney Plus and Netflix, who launched ad-supported subscription options in 2023.
The move is aimed at “continuing to invest in compelling content”, Amazon said in a statement, insisting that the regular price of Prime membership will remain unchanged.
Viewers will have the option to pay an extra £2.99 to unlock an ad-free experience.
