Popular streaming giant, Amazon Prime Video has announced that it will be expanding its reach in India with a further emphasis on regional content.
The digital company has fast emerged as one of the most popular services in its field in India. In an interview with Reuters, Amazon Prime Video Global Vice President, Tim Leslie said, “We want to figure out how do we do more in the South. We haven’t announced any originals yet from the South but we are looking to do as much as can be done.”
Amazon Prime Video has become a romping success in India, owing to the cheap data available to stream video usage in India. Its biggest rivals in the market are Hotstar, Netflix, VOOT, Sonyliv, ALTBalaji and the recently launched ZEE5.
