All change at STAR Plus; ZEE TV takes charge

ZEE TV has beaten rival STAR Plus to the number one slot in India with 34 of the 100 shows belonging to the Subhash Chandra owned channel.

According to ratings data released for week ending 16th February, STAR Plus was not too far behind with 32 shows.

‘Dulhann Banoo Mein Teri’ continues to dominate ZEE TV’s hit list with a TRP rating of 4.4. ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa: Lil Champs’, which culminates this weekend is also performing well with a rating of 3.7. ‘Betiyaan…Ghar Ki Lakshmi’, ‘Maayka’ and ‘Saat Phere’ are other dependable shows, which have resulted in the channel’s surge in popularity recently.

On the other hand, STAR Plus’ new addition ‘Bidaai’ has overtaken Ekta Kapoor favourites like ‘Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ and ‘Kahanni Ghar Ghar Kii’ to take the numero uno slot on the channel. It ranked highest on the channel with a rating of 3.6. ‘Kyunki…’ attracted a similar audience size, whereas ‘Kahani…’ could only muster in 3.4.

Sony Entertainment Television Asia’s classic show ‘CID’ is the only one that has found its place inside the Top 100 shows in India for the week in question. The rating for the show hovered around the 1.7 mark.
