Every actor has a dream of playing one particular type of role at least once in their lifetime. For Alia Bhatt, that role is of a real person, whose voice was electrifying and who had established a new era of music all around the eastern region back in the 80’s and 90’s.

Talking to the media about wanting to play this famous singer in a biopic, NDTV reported Bhatt revealing, “I would love to do biopic on Pakistani pop sensation Nazia Hassan who died at an early age of 35. She was a singer and I am a singer too, so it will be interesting.”

Nazia Hassan was responsible of giving the world great songs such as ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’ from the film ‘Qurbani’ (1980) and ‘Disco Deewane’ (1981). She became the biggest pop singer in Pakistan as well as having made her way up the success ladder with in the Indian film industry.

However, behind closed doors Hassan was suffering from the terrible disease of lung cancer. Having battled with the illness for a long time, she had lost her fight on 13th August 2000, in a London hospital. Despite her early departure from the world, her music has lived on.
