Alia Bhatt: “Whatever comes from the heart, one can take a long way”

Although father Mahesh Bhatt has used his work and the platform of Indian Cinema to promote Indo-Pak cooperation, daughter Alia Bhatt admits she likes to focus on issues which are closer to home.

When the ‘Student of the Year'(2012) debutante was asked for her comments on the same,��Deccan Chronicle��reports her saying, “My dad has been instrumental in collaborating with Pakistani filmmakers��_ bringing actors/singers to India in order to improve ties between the two countries. I think he stands up for the Muslim community a lot. His mother was a Muslim.”

The 23 year old instead took the opportunity to draw light on social causes she supports, “…I can�۪t relate to this cause. I have been connected to other causes ��� animal safety, children�۪s welfare and their education. I feel strongly about these issues. Whatever comes from the heart, one can take it a long way.”
