Alia Bhatt & Varun Dhawan halt ‘Kalank’ shoot due to snakes on set

‘Kalank’ the Abhishek Varman directorial, had to put shooting on halt after two snakes appeared on set. The film which sees the reunion of Madhuri Dixit-Nene and Sanjay Dutt on screen, also features Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan.

Reported on Mumbai Mirror, whilst Bhatt and Dhawan were in the middle of filming, the crew spotted the surprise visit from the slippery guests around 4pm. The ‘Kalank’ team were shooting an intense scene, but had to postpone for an hour.

A source shared what had happened, “The actors are on a 45-day schedule, so the team is taking precautions to ensure everyone’s safety after this incident. On Monday afternoon, there was a lot of commotion on set because the snakes were huge, so the shoot came to an immediate halt. After ensuring everyone was safe, the crew took the snakes back into the jungle.”

The source also mentioned that apparently the same thing happened a few years ago on the same set, during the filming of ‘My Name Is Khan’ (2012).

‘Kalank’ also stars, Kunal Kemmu, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur. Currently, Dixit-Nene and Kemmu are filming their scenes and then Dutt, Sinha and Roy are expected to join soon.

‘Kalank’ is being produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala and Fox Star Productions, and is slated to release in April 2019.
