Alia Bhatt to appear in Netflix’s ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar’?

Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dassani’s ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar’ is all set to release on 5th November on Netflix. However, according to reports, none other than Alia Bhatt also plays a key role in the film.

Bhatt, who has previously worked with Vivek Soni for ‘Shaandaar’ (2015) and ‘Udta Punjab’ (2016), and now in ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar,’ apparently plays a very important role in the film, but not in the cast. Reports say she will be not seen in the film playing any character, but takes credit as the only person responsible for getting Karan Johar’s attention to the film.

After the scripting of ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar, Soni reached out to Bhatt to know her opinion on the script. Bhatt, familiar with Soni’s style of working and his passion, read the script and loved the simplicity of the script and the characters and was thoroughly impressed. She then to connected Soni to Johar. This in turn led to Dharmatic Entertainment coming on board to produce the film.
