Alia Bhatt on Sridevi: “Her passing away was devastating for me”

It was one of those days where everyone remembers where they were when they heard the news of the late Sridevi’s passing, on 24th February 2018. The nation was in shock and disbelief, where even six months later it is still a lot to take in. Now set to work with her daughter Janhvi Kapoor, actress Alia Bhatt opened up about her own experience when she heard the sad news.

“Her passing away was devastating for me, like it was for everyone. I was in a restaurant when I heard the news. After that I just couldn’t eat. I broke down and couldn’t stop crying,” Filmfare reports Bhatt expressing.

She went on to add, “What an impact she had on people! She was always so warm and lovely. kind of turnout on the streets during her last rites… she went like a goddess! That was heart-warming.”

Bhatt and Kapoor will be seen working together in Karan Johar’s next project titled ‘Takht’. The film will include an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Vicky Kaushal.
