Alia Bhatt scrutinised for plagiarism due to Prada?

Although her YouTube channel has been received well so far, Alia Bhatt seems to have landed in hot water due to her first song. Having released Prada, the actress has been accused of plagiarism, as it sounds very similar to the Pakistani song ‘Gore Rang Ka Zamana’ (1990).

Taking to social media platform Twitter, Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat stated, “I find this strange. On the one hand, Bollywood vilifies Pakistan at every opportunity they get. On the other, they continue to steal our songs. Copyright violation and royalty payments obviously mean nothing to them.”

Many have come out in Bhatt’s defence stating she is not responsible for sourcing the song herself, and those who produced the song should be blamed. “She trusted them and surrendered to their vision, and they have compromised Alia. She is very unhappy about the situation,” Deccan Chronicle reports a friend explaining.

Not one to take on confrontation, Bhatt has remained silent throughout, and it doesn’t look like she will be commenting on the matter any time soon.
