Alia Bhatt says ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ not a sequel

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt’s next ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ was being said to be a sequel to 2014’s ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’. However, Bhatt has now said that the film is indeed part of a franchise but not a sequel.

According to PTI, the actress said, “The film is not a sequel, it’s not a continuation. It’s a franchise. It’s a different story, it has another person and dulhania with a common thread that’s a love story”.

Bhatt also spoke about reuniting with the team once again, “It’s great to be back with the whole team. There’s not only Varun but also our director Shashank, the director of photography is the same, the sound designer is the same… It’s like working with family”.

Bhatt will be seen next in ‘Udta Punjab’ which releases on 17th June.
