Alia Bhatt flies the flag for actresses being friends

Whilst the Bollywood industry has always been notorious for pitting actresses against one another, it seems the new generation is breaking these stereotypes and building friendships.  Leading the pack is Alia Bhatt who has spoken warmly about her contemporaries.

Bhatt, who is often compared with Shraddha Kapoor due to the several similarities they share including both being from film families, has said there are no bad vibes between them but rather she is pleased at Kapoor’s success.  Speaking to Mid-Day Bhatt said “I don’t see any rat race between us, so I find it unnecessary when people say that I have gone ahead. In fact, Shraddha has delivered more Rs 100 crore films than I have. So technically, she has been more successful at the box office”.

She went onto add how the two are close and fond of one another as well as sharing a good rapport with Parineeta Chopra.  Whilst she does keep herself updated on contemporaries’ work it is not for competitive reasons as she reasoned “It’s not like I read about their work on my phone every morning, but I’m aware, and there’s nothing wrong in that. We are all in an encouraging, friendly and positive space”.

Bhatt is all geared up for her next release ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ and is excited about her character who she says wears her heart on her sleeve – sounds similar to the real-life Bhatt.
