Alia Bhatt on if she bags National Award

Alia Bhatt’s performance in ‘Udta Punjab’ (2016) won her much acclaim and most of the top honours at recent award ceremonies. The actress is not anticipating a National Award but has confessed she will be glad if she bags it.

Absolute India quote Bhatt saying, “I will be blown away if I get it. It’s an honour to win a National Award. I don’t know if it’s possible, but if it happens, of course, I will be very glad.”

Bhatt’s next release is ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, a love story in which she plays a small town girl.

The actress added, “Every film that I pick up is a sort of challenge for me. Badrinath Ki Dulhania was challenging because it is (set) in a different place altogether. I am playing a girl from Kota. She is a small-town girl and very different from other characters that I have played.”

‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ also stars Varun Dhawan and releases this Friday, 11th March.
