Ali Fazal is about to be seen gracing Hollywood screens, with Stephen Frears upcoming film ‘Victoria and Abdul: The True Story of the Queen’s Closet Confidant’. With the film being kept tightly under wraps, the filmmakers had apparently requested Fazal to keep a low profile on social media.
Hindustan Times reported the actor explaining,”I think, every filmmaker has his way of working and I respect that. I am excited that people will only see the look when its ready to be shown and not while we are shooting it. As a team, we are nurturing something in a particular way. So we have said no to social media on our sets.”
A source went on to add, “Everyone on the sets has been told to use social media accounts as less as possible in order to ensure that the pictures from the sets and of the costumes are not leaked on any social media platform. Ali has been rehearsing for the role much before he left for London.”
The film (and book) tells the controversial story of Queen Victoria and her Munshi (clerk/teacher) Abdul Karim.
