Director Ali Abbas Zafar is gearing up for his much awaited ‘Sultan’. Starring Salman Khan, Zafar says that he and producer Aditya Chopra would not have made ‘Sultan’ without Khan in the lead.

At the ‘Sultan’ trailer launch, Indian Express reports Zafar saying, “I think I am fortunate enough to work with Salman sir. Whenever you write a character you visualize an actor, thinking he can pull it off well. Our producer Aditya Chopra and I were very clear that we would do this film only if Salman sir agrees to do it. There is a lot of Salman in the film because his contribution to the text (story) is phenomenal. He never pointed atthe big things, he pointed atthe smaller ones. My learning from this film is that the depth of things, lies in the small things.”

‘Sultan’ stars Khan and Anushka Sharma, and is slated for a 6th July release.
