Ali Abbas Zafar on Salman Khan pushing for ‘Bharat’ to be made

Ali Abbaz Zafar’s upcoming film ‘Bharat’ stars Salman Khan as the male lead and will mark his third film with the star. He recently spoke about Khan’s encouragement for him to make the film.

“Though I loved the script, I told him, ‘Bhai, I’m not good at adaptations because till the time I don’t write my own stuff, I don’t know whether I’ll be able to direct it well,” said Zafar, as quoted by Filmfare.

He added that it was during the shooting of ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ (2017) that Khan asked him about it again, “I shared what I had in mind and why I wanted Bharat as the title. He said it worked for him. That’s how Bharat happened.It’s a different film for both of us. Something Salman’s gonna push himself hard to get right. That’s exciting because the film is unexplored territory.”

‘Bharat’ also stars Katrina Kaif, after Priyanka Chopra wasn’t able to go ahead with the film due to her wedding.
