‘Alaxmi’ to launch on Star Life Ok in July

New drama ‘Alaxmi’ will be taking the Monday to Friday 21:00 slot on Star Life Ok from July, BizAsia can confirm.

Based on the grand success of ‘Sansar Sukher Hoy Romonir Gune’ on Star Jalsha, ‘Alaxmi’, ‘Alaxmi’ is a new show filled with laughter, fights, and drama.

According to the channel, “Alaxmi is set in the holy city of Dwarka, a city that has sunk six times, it is believed that the city will soon sink again due to the Kapadia family residing in Shanti Niwas. The head of the Kapadia family is a man named Natwarlal – a man with no wife and no children. His widowed younger brother Mohan Das, however, has a large tumultuous family of three sons, three daughter-in-laws, and many grandchildren. Although Mohan Das’s wife, Shantiben, passed away twenty two years ago, she loves her husband so much that she still comes and talks to him through the photographs on the walls. One day, she tells him that he will find the antidote to his family’s strife in Alaxmi. With this in mind, Mohan Das decides to marry his grandson off to a lively and unconventional orphan girl named Laxmi. Due to her mischievous acts, the villagers address her as ‘Alaxmi’. With the help of this smiling spunky girl, a family that was breaking apart is brought together again. These characters will fight, make you laugh, make you love them, and in the end, will win your heart.”
