Akshaye Khanna: “The success or failure of a movie is crucial”

Having been away from the silver screen for quite some time now, Akshaye Khanna seems to be taking his career a little slow these past few years. With his last film having released last year, the actor is back in action and gearing up for the release if his next venture titled ‘Mom’.

Playing the role of a cop, Khanna spoke to the media about what he hopes for the film’s success. “The love and respect from the team has been incredible. I do hope the audience also appreciates the film. We’ve done our best. Keeping the box office collections aside, the success or failure of a movie is crucial. Just as any other profession, we do our best and leave the rest to fate,” Deccan Chronicle reports Khanna explaining.

The film will see Khanna sharing the screen with Sridevi. Talking about working with the actress, he went on to express, “It’s a great opportunity to be able to work with such an immense talent. I have been in this industry for 23 years, but I felt so inadequate working with her as there is so much to learn from her.”

Khanna has also been signed for Abhay Chopra’s ‘Ittefaq’. According to the report the film is roughly based around Khanna’s late father’s own film of the same name.

Directed by Ravi Udywara, ‘Mom’ is set to release on 7th July.
