Akshay Oberoi not considered for ‘Fanney Khan’

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s ‘Fanney Khan’ will see Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan reuniting on the screen after 14 years, but not in a romantic sense. Rai Bachchan’s love interest was still yet to be finalised, as BizAsiaLive.com had reported recently. It’s also emerged that Akshay Oberoi turned down the role but this has been refuted by KriArj Entertainment’s Prerna Arora.

A source is quoted by DNA, “Akshay Oberoi was approached for the film. Talks were initiated with the actor but it didn’t work out eventually. Now, they are still hunting for a young actor”.

Interestingly, responding to this news, Arora told TNN, “We haven’t approached Akshay Oberoi or anyone else for that role as yet. We are yet to finalise any names for this role and will make an official announcement on this soon”.

It is thought that Rajkummar Rao and Vicky Kaushal were also in the running but it seems nothing has yet been confirmed.
