Akshay Kumar’s ‘Ikka’ postponed?

Akshay Kumar 3

BizAsia reported not long ago that Akshay Kumar would be starring in ‘Ikka’ which would be a Hindi remake of 2014’s ‘Kaththi’. The film was expected to go on the floors in August but it seems it’s now been delayed.

The Hindi version was to be directed by Jagan, a once assistant to AR Murugadoss who made the original. It is now apparently delayed until next year as Kumar is keen for changes to be made. A source informed Box Office India, “He loves the plot but Jagan۪s treatment has the flavour of a South remake and South remakes are not working right now. The story will now be based in Maharashtra and focus on a water racket. As soon as Akira releases, the director along with his producer and writers will start reworking the story. Kumar, on the other hand, is very excited as a film with a backdrop like this one۪s has not been made before. He is excited to do this film with a strong plot.”

Kumar was recently seen in ‘Housefull 3’ (2016) and his next movie is ‘Rustom’ which is slated for release on 12th August.
