Akshay Kumar to train with real hockey players

Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gold’ will apparently see him train with real-life hockey players in preparation for the shoot. His fellow cast member are expected to train with him, including Vicky Kaushal’s brother Sunny who is also in the film.

TOI reports a source outlining, “The cast’s training with real-life hockey players is expected to kick off in the next two weeks in Mumbai. Sunny was recently signed for the part of one of the younger players in the team and will begin prep soon”.

Kumar is set to play Balbir Singh who was the Vice Captain of the Indian hockey team in 1952. The film is set in 1948. The team eventually won three Olympic medals.
