Akshay Kumar to play cameo in ‘Baby’ sequel?

Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu starrer, ‘Baby’ (2015), was one of the most loved films last year. While Kumar won rave reviews for his performance, his role will allegedly be reduced to a cameo for the upcoming sequel, which he is apparently content with.

DNA India quote a source as stating, “Yes, it’s true. Neeraj (Pandey) is planning a sequel to ‘Baby’ and everything is being worked out. The script has been finalised… ‘Baby 2’ won’t be about Akshay’s character. ‘Baby 2’ will revolve around Taapsee Pannu’s character. The story will show her backstory of how she eventually became a special agent and will mainly be about her secret mission this time. Taapsee will have a powerful action role.”

The source went onto reveal that Kumar, who has often encouraged women to take up self-defense training, is pleased with ‘Baby 2’ being female-oriented and will be producing the film.

It can be noted that Kumar and ‘Baby’ director Neeraj Pandey share a very strong personal and professional rapport. The actor-director duo will also be reuniting for a film called ‘Crack’.
