Akshay Kumar to don new avatar in ‘Rustom’

Akshay Kumar who stunned everyone in the trailer of his upcoming film ‘Airlift’, will be seen in a ‘never seen before’ avatar in director Neeraj Pandey’s next film, ‘Rustom’.

The actor announced his third time collaboration with Neeraj Pandey on 48th birthday by tweeting, “Thrilled to announce Neeraj Pandey & I are collaborating for romantic thriller #Rustom releasing on Aug 12, 2016! Hoping to be third time lucky��_”

After owning Republic Day for ‘Airlift’, Kumar had also booked Independence Day for ‘Rustom’. The film is to be release during Independence Day weekend. If sources are to be believed, then two actresses will be cast opposite Kumar in the romantic thriller.

According to IANS, Shital Bhatia feels that Kumar’s role is something that he has never been played before and he is totally going to be seen in a new avatar. She said, “The film is set in the late 1950s and is a pure work of fiction. ‘Rustom’ is inspired from certain real life incidents that happened in the past and will be shot in India as well as in Britain,”

“Akshay Kumar’s character in ‘Rustom’ demands a completely new avatar. Ameira Punvani who is the costume designer has already begun work on Akshay’s look. Though we can’s reveal much, the role is something that he has never played before,” Bhatia added.

The film is written by Vipul Rawal and Neeraj Pandey and is co-produced by ZEE Studios and Arjun N Kapoor’s KriArj Entertainment. The music of the film will be composed by Ankit Tiwari and Santosh Thundiyil will be its cinematographer.
