Akshay Kumar not original choice for ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’?

With the film’s trailer receiving a great response from audiences, it comes as no surprise that Akshay Kumar is attracting the mass audience. However, recent news has it that director Neeraj Pandey didn’t initially want Kumar to play the role.

As Asian Age reports, the lead role was written for a much younger actor. Pandey felt that Kumar would look a lot older than the female lead, which wouldn’t fit right for the story.

However, after having difficulty finding a younger actor to fit the bill, the filmmaker adjusted the character and edited the script so the character to fit Kumar.

If this is anything to go by, it seems Kumar is making as much of a great impression on film makers as he is with audiences, for them to change their story to fit him, rather than have him fit their story.

Also starring Bhumi Pednekar, ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ is set to hit the big screens on 11th August.
