After being dropped from ‘Khiladi 786’ (2012), news has it that Nargis Fakhri will finally be seen opposite Akshay Kumar in the remake of the 1982 classic ‘Shaukeen’.

With Kumar playing the role of Ravi Anand, originally played by Mithun Chakraborty, and Fakhri playing Rati Agnihotri’s character Anita, filmmakers are editting the film slightly to suit today’s audience. NDTV reported director Rumi Jaffrey confirming, “We will have Akshay and Nargis in the film. We have just bought the rights of the film but have changed a lot of things to suit the sensibilities of today’s audience. Nargis is talented, hence we cast her. Akshay is a brilliant actor and is good at entertaining people.”

The remake will also see Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Anupam Kher play the three older men who are falling in love with Anita. These roles were originally played by Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt and AK Hangal.
