Akshay Kumar joins SRK & Deepika Padukone on big release date

18th December would be a ‘fantastic Friday’ for moviegoers as along with the release of two big Bollywood films; ‘Dilwale’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’, Akshay Kumar has decided to release the trailer of his upcoming film ‘Airlift’ on the same day.

It was already the biggest Bollywood clash with the release of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer film ‘Dilwale’ and Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’ on the same date and now according to NDTV, Kumar has joined the bandwagon with the theatrical trailer launch of ‘Airlift’.

Kumar is quite attached to the film as it reveals the true incident of the biggest evacuation by Indians during Iraq-Kuwait war which also has its mention on the Guinness Book of World Records.

Post a grand welcome by the audiences to the teaser of ‘Airlift’, makers of the film want to market it big in the theatres and hence no other occasion would be apt enough than releasing it along with the much awaited films like ‘Dilwale’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’.

Revealing his passion about the film, Kumar said, “The film is based on a true event and we are proud to tell this story to everyone. The incident has been recorded in Guinness book of world records stating that the biggest evacuation has been done by Indians. I was very happy to do this film when it came to me. This incident was hidden by the government because of a political reason connected to USA and we are proud to reveal it to the world now.”

‘Airlift’ is scheduled to release on 22nd January 2016.
