Akshay Kumar is special to Prabhu Deva

Akshay Kumar and popular choreographer-director Prabhu Deva first collaborated on their 2012, hit action film, ‘Rowdy Rathore’. They are set to wow the audience again in their next upcoming film, ‘Singh is Bliing’, and Prabhu Deva didn’t hesitate to admit that Kumar is special to him.

To the Hindustan Times, Prabhu��revealed, “He is special, not just to me, but to everyone he works with. He is full of positivity. Usually I am among the first ones to reach the sets of my films, but there have been times when he has reached the sets even before me.”

Prabhu also added that it was Kumar who brought on actress Lara Dutta after her two year hiatus. He said, “Though she has been away from films for so many years, she suited this role. She is very professional.”

While Prabhu is one of the top choreographers, he says that it is a conscious decision to avoid choreographing for his own films. He stated, “It is a conscious decision to have one more brain working on the film. That person will bring in a new style, and give the movie a new outlook. I prefer that.”

‘Singh is Bliing’ also stars Amy Jackson and Kay Kay Menon, and is slated to release on 2nd October.
