Akshay Kumar disappointed by lack of appreciation for comedy

Over the past decade, Akshay Kumar has featured in a number of light-hearted comedy films. ��The actor is returning to comedy with his upcoming film, ‘Singh Is Bliing’, after two more serious themed films this year: ‘Baby’ and ‘Gabbar Is Back’. ��However, Kumar is unhappy with the lack of appreciation comic performances receive in Bollywood.

PTI quote Kumar as saying, “I love comedy. ��It is a difficult genre to do but unfortunately comic hero doesn’t get his due in this industry because we look down on it… Unless you do romance and tragedy, you don’t get best actor award. ��If you are making people laugh, it looks like buffoonery. ��It’s very sad this happens.”

Directed by Prabhu Deva, ‘Singh Is Bliing’ stars Kumar alongside��Amy Jackson and Lara Dutta. ��The film releases on 2nd October.
