Priyadarshan’s ‘Hera Pheri’ (2000) is remembered as one of the most loved comedy films in Bollywood. While the original cast of the film was also seen in the 2006-sequel, ‘Phir Hera Pheri’, superstar Akshay Kumar will be missing from the third film in the franchise. There has been much speculation as to why Kumar will be missing from ‘Hera Pheri 3’, with the latest rumour suggesting that he demanded too high a fee.
“Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal agreed to what was being offered to them but Akshay wanted an astronomical amount. So, the makers had no option but to find another actor. The film was anyway delayed due to several rounds of conversation with him,” a source toldMid Day.
TheMid Day article reports that Kumar had allegedly demanded Rs. 50 Crore.
‘Hera Pheri 3’ will be directed by Neeraj Vora and will star Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham.
