Akshay Kumar condemns Delhi rape case

Akshay Kumar, who is known for his action-avatar on-screen, has recently showed serious concern over the current status of women’s safety in the country’s capital, Delhi. The actor also condemned the recent shameful acts of rape incidents happened in the city.

Kumar, who himself was bought up in Delhi, feels that the city has now become a bad name because of such episodes. He has also expressed his thoughts on being a girl’s father, how worried he gets when such incidents take place.��He told IANS, “It scares me every day. I thought I was protective (about my daughter) before, but there�۪s nothing that prepares you, as a parent, for the constant fear about your daughters safety and happiness.”

“I know it’s my duty as a father to look after her, but I also expect my country�۪s government to protect her. It’s their job to make our streets safe. What are we paying taxes for if we can�۪t even step outside the house without fear?” he further said.

Kumar is not the only personality from Bollywood who has criticized these incidents. Aamir Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha too have expressed their shock and condemned it.
