Akshay averts Diwali clash with SRK, Ajay

It never bodes well when two (or in this case, three), big films are eyeing the same release date. Usually, producers and actors want an optimum release date for their films so that they can cash in on big holidays and grab the maximum number of eyeballs. Diwali, Eid and Christmas are usually regarded as the best times to release a film as its more than likely to guarantee an impressive opening for the film. On the flip side however, it can also mean that a good film might get overlooked if its promotion is not up to the mark.

A similar clash was all set for this Diwali too. Ajay Devgn�۪s ��Son of Sardar�۪, Akshay Kumar�۪s ��Khiladi 786�۪ and Yash Chopra-SRK’s as yet untitled film are all set to hit the theatres on the same date. However, Akshay in a magnanimous gesture has stalled the release of his film to avert the hyped clash and give each of the films their own breathing space and make their mark at the box office.

According to an article in The Times of India, Ajay met Akshay on the sets of the latter�۪s upcoming film ��Rowdy Rathore�۪, and requested that he move the release of ��Khiladi 786�۪. Akshay, who on his part is quite fond of Ajay, gladly obliged and for now, has set the release date of his film to some time in December.

Askhay�۪s move benefits everyone of course. He can now focus on the release and promotions of ��Rowdy Rathore�۪ and ��Joker�۪, and both Yash Chopra and Ajay Devgn will get enough theatres to showcase their respective films.

Obviously, there still will be the issue of Ajay�۪s and SRK�۪s films clashing but in that instance, all we can say is may the best man, or film as the case may be, win!
