Upcoming Sikh religious TV service, Akaal Channel has clarified details surrounding its launch.

Akaal Channel, which was rumoured to launch at the end of January, is launching early 2013 subject to BSkyB’s EPG allocation.

The channel also said it had no connection with the old Sikh TV. It said, “Akaal Channel is separate broadcaster without any involvement of Sikh TV or any of their staff. Our launching is delayed up to April 2013. We are not in any competition with any of the existing Sikh media as we got different aims and responsibilities.”

Akaal Channel is a UK based broadcaster, which is going to provide religious, education, cultural and entertainment programming for Sikh and non-Sikh community. Akaal TV is the UK’s first television station under Sri Akaal Takht Sahib. Akaal Channel is going to broadcast in UK, Europe and internationally via web streaming www.akaalchannel.tv. Akaal TV’s aim is to provide the platform to the whole community, connecting our youth to their roots.
