Ajay Devgn’s character in ‘Raid’ inspired by real officer

With the release of first film of 2018 just days away, Ajay Devgn had revealed that his inspiration for his character in Rajkumar Gupta’s ‘Raid’, has come from a real officer.

Playing a stern and upfront officer in the film, Mumbai Mirror reported Devgn expressing, “I didn’t really spend a lot of time with him but I heard a few more stories of IT raids from him and other officers.”

“Some were funny and some scary, I marvelled at how casually he narrated the incident though I don’t think he’d have been as nonchalant then,” he went on to add.

Despite the inspirational work, it seems the officer in question doesn’t want the world to know who it is. When asked Devgn expressed, “I’m not sure if he’d want that. The day he is comfortable with it, I’ll tell you his name.”

In the meantime, Devgn”a calendar is rammed with a number of other big films. Along with ‘Raid’, the actor-film maker has Luv Ranjan’s romantic comedy with Tabu, his own yet to be announced directorial, as well as forthcoming productions ‘Total Dhamaal’, ‘Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior’ and the ‘Son of Sardaar’ sequel.

It seems Devgn is pulling out all the stops for some big successes this year.
