Ajay Devgn: “There’s not one person who’s worked with me & had a problem”

In the 25 years that superstar Ajay Devgn has been a part of the Hindi film industry, many people have tried to draw him into controversies and criticise his films. However they have failed to knock him down. Hindustan Times reports Devgn saying that “Facts are facts, and some people try to distort them. People who know me know that I’ve never done anything to run anybody down. I have never got into a controversy for the heck of it.”

Devgn was involved in a controversy regarding his 2016 film ‘Shivaay’, which had clashed with Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (2016). Devgn had accused certain people of trying to sabotage the build-up and success of his film. Rumour has it that Devgn’s wife Kajol ended her friendship with Johar due to this controversy however it has been reported that they have recently bonded over Johar’s twin babies.

Devgn went onto say, “People eventually did say [in such cases] that I was right. Also, in these 25 years, I’ve only had problems with people who didn’t know me. There’s not even one person who has worked with me and had a problem with me.”

While some actors get affected negatively by failures, Devgn is one star that doesn’t allow failure to affect him. Devgn said, “I’ve never been bothered about the superstar status. The one thing that I learned from my father (Veeru Devgan, a renowned fight master in Bollywood) was to be honest with your work. I have been very lucky. There’s never been any situation where I had to struggle or wait for work. I have got more than enough work, which I even had to refuse sometimes.”
