Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wants to do a Marathi film

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has expressed interest to do a Marathi film.

Speaking at the music launch of Vikram Phadnis’ directorial debut ‘Hrudayantar’ which is a Marathi film, Rai Bachchan said she would love to work in a Marathi film if the script excited her.  She further added “I am an actor and it doesn’t matter where and by whom is the movie being made. I have never catered to these expected norms and have carved my journey” as reported in spotboye.com

The actress has already done several regional films including Mani Ratnam’s Iruvar (1997) and Rituparno Ghosh’s ‘Choker Bali’ (2003).  With the success of the ‘Baahubali’ franchise doing tremendous business, it seems more of the Bollywood actors are happy to venture more into regional cinema.
