The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan over the Panama Papers.
Reports say that the 48-year-old actor is being questioned over alleged monies in an account abroad. She has reportedly asked for more time.
The ED began in its investigation into possible FX irregularities back in 2017. Since then, it has sent notices to the Bachchan family requesting them to explain their international remittances.
The Panama Papers came into public domain in 2016, which lists some of the wealthiest around the world, who set-up offshore accounts or shell corporations to avoid paying taxes. The papers claimed to include almost 300 Indians.
