Aishwarya Rai Bachchan signed for Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Durga Rani Singh’

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been on a signing spree with new film announcements coming in regularly.

According to an interview with DNA India, Bachchan will play the lead part in the film, which previously was offered to Vidya Balan, Kangna Ranaut and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The film is based on a true story of a tough female cop.

Bachchan told DNA India, ���I am doing three films ��� Karan Johar�۪s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, the biopic on Sarabjit Singh directed by Omung Kumar and a film with Sujoy Ghosh. I think Sujoy�۪s films have gone to a later date. He had discussed two subjects with me ��� ‘The Devotion Of Mr X’ and ‘Durga Rani Singh’.�۝

Talking about rumours that ‘The Devotion Of Mr X’ has been shelved, Bachchan added, ���Sujoy has not told me that. I still have to meet him to discuss where that�۪s going. We haven�۪t had the time to meet once ‘Jazbaa’ rolled. It was announced in the media that ‘The Devotion Of Mr X’ was taking off and then announced that it was shelved but I really don�۪t know what�۪s happening… He has narrated both the subjects with me and now I have to figure out which one is there. But I know ‘Durga Rani’ is on for sure!�۝
