Aishwarya Rai Bachchan set for on-screen return in 2013?

The comeback of Bollywood’s beauty queen post the birth of her daughter, Aaradhya, has always been talked about. BizAsia has learnt that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan may indeed be returning to the big screen this year.

If rumours are to be believed, it is thought that Bachchan is currently having ongoing conversations with both Mani Ratnam and Karan Johar. If all goes well, it seems remakes will be on the cards for the ex Miss World in the form of 1982’s ‘Bemisal’ (which originally starred Amitabh Bachchan) and also an adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier’s novel, ��Rebecca�۪.

News has is that Bachchan has recently spent a lot of time and effort in upping her fitness level and has lost a lot of weight. One wonders whether, if she doesn’t return this year, her fame and popularity will lessen? It certainly seems as if she is prepping for a grand return… watch this space!
