Aishwarya Rai Bachchan honoured on her birthday

The beautiful model-turned actress and daughter-in-law of Bollywood’s superstar of the Millennium, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, celebrates her 39th birthday today and she does so in style. Bachchan will be receiving a French honour this evening.

It has been reported that the Government of France are awarding Bachchan the title of Knight of Order of Arts and Letters which will be presented by the French Ambassador to India, Francois Richier, in Mumbai.

The French Government said that the award is for “for recognition of her invaluable contribution to the world of cinema and the development of Indo-French cooperation in Cinema, Art and culture”. It is thought that the award is in keeping with her role in 2002’s ‘Devdas’ which saw phenomenal success in France.
