Aishwarya marks 20 years since winning Miss World crown

On 19th November 1994, India won the Miss World crown and Aishwarya Rai (now Bachchan) started her journey to becoming a world renowned name and personality. To mark the occasion, the actress is sponsoring 100 cleft surgeries.

Bachchan, who is expected to visit a dedicated hospital where such surgeries are going to be carried out, has been supporting the cause since October. A source from her team told Hindustan Times, ���She has been involved in this cause since October. The kids being treated are in the age group of one to 14 years�۝.

���Aishwarya will meet some slightly older kids, who are done with their treatment, and will interact with them. She felt that meeting toddlers would be difficult, as they are still recovering and are too young to understand much,�۝ the source added.

It is definitely a commendable gesture as the lady marks 20 years since winning the pageant.
