Just when one thought Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had done it all, there comes news that she is about to hold another first on record. Rumours have it that the actress will be hoisting the Indian flag during the opening ceremony of the Indian Film Festival in Melbourne.
“IFFM is proud to welcome one of India’s most loved and iconic actors – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – to the festival and look forward to celebrating Indian cinema in Australia,” Hindustan Times reports Mitu Bhowmick-Lange, festival director expressing.
The record in which Rai Bachchan will be setting, is being the first female actor to have such an honour of flying the flag at the prestigious event.
The festival which opens on 10th August, will have a 12 day run through, with special guests such as Karan Johar, Simi Gerewal, Malaika Arora, Rahul Bose, Raveena Tandon and Konkona Sen Sharma who are said to be attending.
