You۪re coming in Kya Kool Hai Hum 3۪ after a gap of about 3 years, was that a conscious decision?

No it wasn۪t a conscious decision, because I did play everything by ear. I was offered Kya Kool…۪ last year where I started filming for it early last year. It just so happened that it just took time to be made, and I was shooting for two films ironically Grand Masti۪ and Kya Kool_۪ simultaneously. Now, in fact they are both coming out in the first quarter of 2016.

As you said you played it by ear but comedy seems to be seems to be working for you, so have you decided to stick with just comedy now?

No, I۪m not decided anything actually.. I don۪t make so many plans; I just play them by ear. Whatever works out for me, if I۪m excited about it, I۪ll definitely do it. There۪s no conscious decision to stick to a particular genre.

This is your fist experience in this popular franchise, how does your role fit into it?

I۪ve done this genre before, which is comedy and I think this franchise was as big as Masti۪ (2004), at that point of time and still is. So I think I۪ve treated it as another film altogether, as a new film, as a new script. For me the script has actually worked, it۪s a very radical script, and the Kya Kool…3۪ track has nothing to do with Part 1 and Part 2. It۪s another story altogether in the franchise. So I۪ve treated it as another film and it just so happened it۪s been made in the way. It۪s off a very successful franchise.

There have been stories around that the censor board has been given so many cuts to Kya Kool_3۪. What is your take on that, particularly when this has been targeted as India۪s first porn rom-com?

The censor board has done its job, it has certain guidelines to follow and we respect and accept that. Our film also has gone through its call of censor. When the censor board had seen it, it had requested for certain things and we have made adjustments, and today we sustained it well. We۪re extremely happy with the film that the audiences are going to see on the 22nd of January. And so is the censor board, as the film is duely censored, it۪s a win-win situation for everybody. This is the truth, and the film releases on the 22nd January and it۪s absolutely exciting and we are very happy.

You۪ve worked with Tusshar (Kapoor) and Mandana (Karimi) in the film. What would you say about your working experience with them?

With Tusshar it۪s been a complete breeze because we۪ve been buddies for about 2 or 3 years now, and when this film happened it۪s just been an extension of the kind of vibe that we share. We have tremendous respect for each other and we hung out a lot. So it۪s been completely effortless, and a breeze to work with him. He۪s done a few comedy films before and he۪s excelled in them. I۪ve done a couple of comedy films, and we have this great camaraderie, which is great. You know, action-reaction, there۪s great chemistry, but we hardly needed any rehearsals because the chemistry was effortless. Everything looked so natural from both parts.

With Mandana, I can say that she didn۪t come across as somebody new. She comes across as somebody who’s extremely strong headed, and very focused. She knows exactly what she wants, which is good for anybody – especially a newcomer. I think she۪s had a different track, she’s really gone and done a sweet romantic track in the film. I think she۪s worked hard and done exceptionally well and of course now she۪s in the Bigg Boss۪ house, she۪s become a household name so it۪s worked out pretty well for her.

Aftab Tusshar - Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3

There have been reports around saying that you discussed the script of Kya Kool_۪ with your wife, and there have also been reports following saying that she wasn۪t happy with the film. Do you have anything to say?

That۪s a figment of somebody۪s imagination and there۪s no truth to it. I discuss anything with my wife that any husband would. It۪s got nothing to do with anything else and she has been absolutely supportive and encouraging towards this film. In fact she۪s been present throughout the shooting of this film, she۪s really had a blast on this film. She۪s even seen the film; in fact she laughed more than I did, which is great. So she۪s been extremely supportive.

You makes the audiences laugh with your comedy. However, is there any particular person in the industry, or any kind of film scene that always make you laugh?

I love watching ‘The Hangover۪; it۪s one of my favourite films. I۪ve seen it about 3 or 4 times, every time I watch it I always crack up. The humour۪s just exceptional, because it reminds me of me and my friends. It۪s really funny. I think it will go down as a cult film.

Are you open to doing more sex comedies?

Well, my next release is an adult comedy, which is Grand Masti۪ that۪s coming out end of March. So I have no qualms about doing it and I think it۪s a growing genre in the country and worldwide. I think it۪s a very, very popular genre so why not?

Lastly, are there any messages you want to give to your fans regarding this film?

I just want to say the 22nd January is going to be really special, so you must go an watch ‘Kyaa Kool…3’ at a theatre nearby. It۪s a really funny film, but of course it۪s only for adults so under 18s should not go and watch his film. All I want to say it۪s a really funny film. It۪s an extremely radical film. We۪ve had a great time doing it, so we hope that you guys go and watch this film and really have a blast.
