When it was announced that Karan Johar and Guneet Monga would be working on a Hindi adaptation of French movie ‘The Intouchables’ (2011), rumours were almost immediately doing the rounds as to who they would cast. Two names that have now emerged for the male leads are Aditya Roy Kapur and Varun Dhawan.
“Initially, Mohit (director Mohit Suri) had wanted Saif (Ali Khan) to play the physically challenged tycoon, but Karan Johar insisted on an allyoung cast. Varun Dhawan and Aditya Roy Kapur have now been shortlisted for the parts and the story is currently being reworked by Mohit and Tushar Hiranandani. who recently wrote Ek Villain,” a source told Mumbai Mirror.
The original film has a friendship between a wheelchair bound man and a black nurse. However, this adaptation was said to be a tale of two actors of the same age.
